HOUSE PILE ASSESSMENT

A pile is typically a wooden or concrete post underneath a house that is used to distribute the homes weight evenly across the ground.  Over time, piles can sink, rot, crack or tilt causing portions of a house to become unstable.  If you are concerned with the piles under your home and you would like an assessment for quotation and remedial work then we can provide this service for you.

RE-PILING

Re-piling is the process of removing existing broken or rotten piles and in some cases sections of bearers and floor joists and replacing these with new to make your home level and structurally sound again.  In addition to requested work, we can provide assessment of the complete foundation to provide you with peace of mind.   All foundation re-leveling/re-pile remedial work is performed to NZ building standards (NZS3604:2011).

RE-LEVELLING

Leveling a home, or jacking and packing as it is also known, is the process of lifting sunken sections of sub-flooring and securing a packer, or wedge, between foundation bearers and the piles. There are building regulations as to what can and what cannot be re-leveled by this process.  In some circumstances re-piling may also be necessary.
